When someone searches for your type of business on Google Maps, where does your listing show up? The answer depends on the searcher's location. This guide shows you how to check your ranking from any spot on the map using GMB Everywhere's Teleport feature.
Why Local Ranking Matters
When someone searches for "dentist" or "plumber" on Google Maps, the results change based on where the person is standing. If your business doesn't show up in the top results for your area, you're missing potential customers. According to Google, three factors decide your local ranking:
- Relevance – How well your profile matches what someone is searching for.
- Distance – How far your business is from the searcher's location.
- Prominence – How well-known your business is, based on reviews, links, and overall online presence.
