The quickest way to make a Google Business Profile post image is to open the GBP Image Generator and choose GBP Post. It makes a landscape picture from your listing and a post idea, and you still add it to the post yourself.
A Google Post looks messy when you drop in a tall phone screenshot. Choose GBP Post in the Image Generator so the picture fits the post. After you make it, you can also write the post text with the GMB post AI tool if you also need the caption.
Google’s photo guidelines still apply: JPG or PNG, in focus, and the image should represent reality with no excessive AI or filters. Look at the picture before you publish it, because the words on it can vary.
Keep it simple: one offer or update, easy to read on a phone, and honest about the business.
Format
Landscape 4:3
Pick GBP Post under Where will you use it. Do not use the Story option for a Google Post.
Idea
One clear update
Ideas like a limited-time offer, a product or service showcase, and a behind-the-scenes look.
Review
Read it before you upload
Image quality and text can vary, so download the picture, check the words, then attach it to the post.
Here’s how to use it.
Open GMB Everywhere AI Tools and find the card titled GBP Image Generator. It says it creates on-brand images for your profile, Google Posts and social. Click Generate Images.
You’ll land on GBP Image Generator. Under Find your business, start typing your business name and pick the listing. Under Where will you use it? choose GBP Post (Landscape · 4:3). The four options are GBP Post (Landscape · 4:3), Profile Photo (Square · 1:1), Facebook / Instagram Post (Square · 1:1), and Instagram Story / Reel (Vertical · 9:16). There is no 16:9 option.
After you pick a business, that list becomes 3 ideas suggested for the listing. Pick the one closest to what you need, or choose Custom — write your own. The names below are examples of the defaults, not a promise you will see those exact lines. A reference image and the optional Custom prompt are separate fields. Then click Generate image.
What the tool does not do
It does not upload the image to Google Business Profile, Instagram, or Facebook. Download it, take a look, then add it yourself. Keep the picture honest, and do not invent a shop, team, or offer you do not have.
If you also want a square or Story version, see how to make matching sizes. You can write the caption with the GMB post AI tool. If you want the same update on social later, there is a guide on how to share a GBP post on Facebook and Instagram.
What people try first
What actually helps
Does this upload the post for me?
No. Generate image creates a picture. You add it to the Google Post yourself.
What size should a Google Post image be?
Choose GBP Post. That option is landscape 4:3. The form also has 1:1 and 9:16 for other places.
Do I need a designer?
No. Pick the listing, choose GBP Post, pick an idea, and generate. Look at the result before you publish.
